About this guide
Power NI is one of the best-known electricity suppliers in Northern Ireland. This guide is independent and isn't written by or with Power NI. We don't publish anyone's prices here because tariffs change. For current tariffs, check Power NI's own website.
Which tariff are you on?
Your bill should show your tariff name, unit rates, standing charge and whether you're on a contract or a standard tariff. If you can't tell, send it to us and we'll explain it.
Contract or standard tariff?
Businesses on a fixed contract know what they'll pay until the end date. If you've never agreed a contract, or yours has ended, you may be on a standard tariff. That isn't always the best value for your usage.
What happens when your contract ends?
If you don't agree a new deal before the end date, you may move onto a standard or out-of-contract rate. Put your end date in the diary, and look at your options a few months beforehand.
Thinking of renewing?
Before you sign a renewal, it's worth checking what else is available. We already hold contracts with the main UK suppliers, so we check your bill against the rates we've got and tell you honestly if staying put is your best option.
How to get your bill checked
Snap your Power NI bill and send it on WhatsApp, by email or through the form. A local NI team will check it for free.
